Introduction to the Gaming Keyboards of the Month: September 2011
The Gaming Keyboards of the Month section here at Newb Computer Build is all about showing you the gaming keyboard choices made by me month by month. These suggestions will be based on a number of factors: consumer reviews, functions, appeal, quality, and price points. If you think about it, essentially any keyboard could be labelled a “gaming keyboard”, as long as you are using it to game, however there are a plethora of gaming grade keyboards out there that just may give you that edge in a specific game, or perhaps it may just look and feel wicked when matched to your gaming rig.
For the month of September 2011, just like the monthly Gaming Mouse’s section I will choose three Gaming Keyboards based solely on consumer review value, so that you have a base understanding of what to look for in a gaming keyboard. Each month I will post what I believe to be the top three choices for you, and even though I will try to post an assortment of different keyboards month to month, I will only re-post the same keyboards if they truly deserve it. If you have any questions please leave a comment and I will get back to you. Enjoy!
Keyboard 1: Logitech G510
The Logitech G510 Gaming Keyboard is a gorgeous gaming keyboard. And yep, I did choose this as my number one gaming keyboard for September 2011, because….yes I use this one!! Read my personal review and check out what I think. The Logitech G510 is a very versatile keyboard, and you could not go wrong with this choice. So many customization’s, an LCD screen (which you can actually use), good quality feel, and so many key colors…yes I am mesmerized by flashy lights
Estimated Price: $94.99 (this keyboard was recently reduced from $120 this month)
|Brand / Model:||Logitech – G510|
Keyboard 2: Microsoft SIDEWINDER X4
The Microsoft SIDEWINDER X4 has been a popular gaming keyboard for quite a while. It looks pretty basic at a first glance, but this thing packs a ton of gaming keyboard functionality: Such as anti-ghosting, macro profiles, programmable macros, and three keyboard illumination levels. Plus this may be one of the best “bang for your buck” keyboards out right now since it is at half the price of the Logitech G510 from above.
Estimated Price: $48.24
|Brand / Model / Type:||Microsoft – SIDEWINDER X4|
Keyboard 3: Saitek Cyborg V5
The Saitek Cyborg V5 comes a nice price tag and has the “cool’ gamer feel. Some good pluses to this board are the soft keys for smooth key movement, a nice dark red LED which make it easy to see the keys in the dark anti-ghosting, and programmable keys.
Estimated Price: $38.24
|Brand / Model||Saitek – Cyborg V5|

Newb Computer Build Recommends:
All three of the above gaming keyboards were all chosen based on the most recent consumer reviews so that you have an understanding of a few of the top gaming keyboards out there right now. If you are here debating what gaming keyboard to get, ask yourself how much you are willing to spend on a gaming keyboard, and then if you get stuck with which keyboard to choose still then choose what you think looks the best to you! In the gaming PC world it can sometimes be confusing when diffusing through hardware reviews, and trying to match together a bunch of hardware for the best gaming rig possible, but sometimes you just have to get what looks right for your own gaming needs!! All of the above keyboards are very highly rated, so do not fret with all of the choices and get the best one to match your build.
