The Third Tier Gaming Build Updated!

Posted by & filed under Computer Builds, Gaming PC Builds.

MSI GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) N460GTX Twin Frozr II SOC Video CardI just finished updating the Third Tier Gaming Build. Although the older build came in at around $600, the new one comes in at $630, but it is well worth it. As with the Second Tier Gaming Build I swapped the older 320GB Western Digital hard drive for a better SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5″ Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive giving you tons of more space while using a quality brand hard drive. I switched to a much cheaper MSI 870-G45 AM3 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard that comes in at $69.99 and offers much of the same functionality.

So you want to play your games on ultra high resolution/quality, but don’t have a ton of cash? Games like Starcraft 2, World of Warcraft, the new Fallout new Vegas etc. will all play great at 1080p resolutions on ultra graphics with these builds. When looking into a gaming PC you want to look for  decent processing power, around 4Gb RAM, and a good (not best) graphics card.

Let’s take a look at a couple of builds that you may be able to use / work around to get you what you need:
