Gaming PC Build Recipe:
All hardware is linked to Amazon.com – You Can also try Amazon.ca (CANADA) • Amazon.co.uk (UK) Newegg.com (US) • Newegg.ca (CANADA) Scorptec.com.au(AUS) pccasegear.com (AUS) to shop for these parts.
The October AMD builds were delayed to the release of socket FM2 on the 2nd of October. Due to the newness of the hardware, there are no benchmark results available, so you can’t really compare this build with Corey’s equivalent at the moment.
Processer: AMD A10-5800K $129.99.
When bundled with the Asus Motherboard, you save $10. See here. The FM2 series is a massive improvement over the FM1, particularly in the graphics department. This CPU may be a little slower then last months $500 build CPU, but the graphics are much better in this build.
Motherboard: ASUS F2A55-M LK PLUS FM2 $74.99.
This Motherboard has all the essentials and yet it is still affordable. When bundled with the APU, you save $10. See here.
Graphics Card: GIGABYTE GV-R667D3-1GI Radeon HD 6670 $69.99 after rebate $49.99.
This in crossfire with the APU will be perfect for your gaming needs. The performance of this can be compared to an i3-3220 and 550ti in gaming.
Ram: CORSAIR XMS3 8GB (2 x 4GB) $37.99.
All the Ram you would possibly need in a budget build at a great price.
Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB $84.99.
This Hard drive was chosen because there was plenty of cash to spare with the massive changes throughout this build.
PSU: Corsair Builder Series CX500W V2 PSU $59.99 after rebate $39.99.
Like in Corey’s equivalent build, I have opted for a PSU with continuous power flow. This PSU is 80 plus certified and 500W’s is plenty for this build.
Case: COOLER MASTER Elite NV-334-KWN1-GP Black $54.99.
I choose this case because there is heaps of room and it looks great.
Optical: ASUS Internal 24x DVD-RW $19.98.
I throwing this in again, because, like I said last month, I have had no problems with my one I use currently.
Total: $532.91 after rebates $482.91

In this month’s $1000 build, due to price drops in some areas of the build, I’ve managed to squeeze a GTX 680 graphics card in. The GTX 680 far exceeds the 7950 in Corey’s build and it shows in the benchmarks. For this month’s builds, I’ve decided to get benchmarks that have the CPUs at turbo clock speeds rather than random speeds, to make the results even more accurate. The results are seen below. http://www.3dmark.com/compare/3dm11/4524317/3dm11/4114695
Processor: Processor: AMD FX-8150 $169.99.
This is the top of the range AMD CPU and is about $50 cheaper than the 3570K now after a $20 price drop. Unlike the 3570K, this CPU is an octo-core (8-core CPU) so this CPU is better designed for multi-tasking. And this CPU is super easy to overclock.
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+ $123.99.
This motherboard is the same as the one used in the previous months build, but has had a $10 drop. It can take 32GB of ram, plenty of USB ports and supports 2-way SLI and 2-way crossfire (which is the norm on today’s boards). What more could you want?
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 16 GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600MHz $85.99.
I choose this kit again because of its price and it leaves 2 spare slots for future upgrades. In the long run, it saves you having to buy 4 modules later down the track. The kit has had a minor price drop from last month.
Graphics Card: MSI N680GTX Twin Frozr III $499.99 after rebate 469.99.
Due to the price drops in other departments, I have been able to add this beast of a graphics card, it far exceeds the 7950 in Corey’s builds as seen in the benchmarks.
Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500 GB $56.96
I was unable to fit a 1TB HD in here because of the introduction of the GTX 680 but 500GB should be plenty of HD space.
PSU: Corsair CX Series CX750 $75.99.
I opted for this PSU because it is 80 Plus certified and it has 750w, enough to run this rig to its full potential.
Case: Cooler Master Elite 430 Mid Tower $36.03 after rebate $26.03
This case was chosen again because it is super cheap, and is a perfect fit for the gigabyte board and can fit full-length graphics cards.
Optical: ASUS Internal 24x DVD-RW $19.98.
I throwing this in again, because, like I said last month, I have had no problems with my one I use currently.
Total: $1068.92 after rebates $1028.92
AMD $1500 Build October 2012
Gaming PC Build Recipe:
All hardware is linked to Amazon.com – You Can also try Amazon.ca (CANADA) • Amazon.co.uk (UK) Newegg.com (US) • Newegg.ca (CANADA) Scorptec.com.au(AUS) pccasegear.com (AUS) to shop for these parts.
This month, due to price drops in many areas of the build, I’ve managed to get a crossfire setup in the $1500 build. This improves the performance greatly and when compared to Corey’s $1500 build, you notice the difference. The results can be seen below and at http://www.3dmark.com/compare/3dm11/3495985/3dm11/4404318 .
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler $27.87.
Tests have shown that air cooling is just as effective as water cooling so this month I’ve decided to include and air cooler rather than a water cooler.
Motherboard: ASUS Sabertooth 990FX AM3+ $178.61.
I choose this motherboard again over the Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD7 because of it possessing the majority of features on the UD7 and being much cheaper.
Ram: Kingston HyperX Blu 16GB Kit (2×8 GB) 1600MHz DDR3 $76.74.
I opted for this memory kit due to it being so cheap. It is $13 cheaper than the kit used last month and has similar specs.
Graphics Card: Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 $321.25 X2 = $642.50. (CROSSFIRE)
This month I have managed to squeeze a crossfire setup in. I originally had a GTX 680 pencilled in, but there was quite a bit cash left over, so I opted for a 7950 crossfire setup. Benchmarks have shown two of these cards to be better than a single GTX 680
SSD: OCZ Vertex 4 VTX4-25SAT3-128G $98.99.
For optimum boot speeds, you need an SDD. This SSD is perfect size for OS and any games to be quickly loaded.
HD: Seagate ST2000DM001 Barracuda 7200RPM 2 TB $99.99.
I choose this because it provides you with plenty of storage for all the essentials, and you shouldn’t run out anytime soon. There has been a minor price drop from last month.
PSU: Corsair Enthusiast Series 850-Watt 80 Plus Bronze Certified PSU $127.98.
This PSU has enough power to run everything with power to spare, if need be you could throw the 1200W Corsair professional Series PSU in but you shouldn’t need that much power.
Case: Cooler Master HAF 922 Mid Tower Computer Case $93.17.
This case has very good airflow, and has room for full length Graphics cards and in my opinion, it looks nice.
Optical: ASUS Internal 24x DVD-RW $19.98.
I throwing this in again, because, like I said last month, I have had no problems with my one I use currently.

Thanks alpha
which is best processor for gaming, daily multitasking, and fast processing
amd fx-8150 or intel i5-3570k or intel i5 2500k….
If you plan to game id suggest the 8150 as it is cheaper, but if your going to do video encoding for instance, i’d go the 3570k. 3570k is good for gaming also. if you look here http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html you’ll find that the 8150 is a better CPU.
