For all of you awaiting the new Star Wars: The Old Republic to be released, you can now be at ease as the official release date has been set to December 20th, 2011 in North America, and December 22, 2011 in Europe. Recently, The Old Republic team at Bioware sent out an e-mail announcement that said just this claiming that “Your Saga Awaits”.
Along with the Star Wars: The Old Republic release date being announced was a link to pre-order the game so that you can have early game access, and a free in game bonus item exclusive to this offer. The free in game bonus item is a Color Stone that allows you to change your weapon effect. You are able to pre-order the game in either a collectors edition, digital deluxe edition, or a standard edition. For more information on how to pre-orde you can visit the Star Wars: The Old Republic Pre Order website directly here.
Fee Structure for SWTOR Gameplay
When Star Wars: The Old Republic is released there will be a month to month fee structure set in place to play the game. As it stands right now these fees will be as follows:
- 1 Month Subscription: $14.99
- 3 Month Subscription: $13.99 per month
- 6 Month Subscriptions $12.99 per month
I have always hated month to month fees for games, however this one does look worth it but my only hopes are that it will be updated regularly and the support will be phenomenal; just like Word of Warcraft was when it came out – although some may argue this.
If you are wondering whether you will be able to play Star Wars: The Old Republic you can check out the system requirements page here at Newb Computer Build here.
